First of all I wish to say that I should have updated this blog quite a few months ago. For that I am sorry.

Now for the reason for the post this evening.

There is a certain type of fan that not only should they not be considered a "True" or "Real" fan, but I don't want them to even talk about sports. This, of course, especially applies to the teams I root for.

The classifications are as follows:
1. The rich guy that just buys the tickets to the games in their area because they can. Now this, of course, is the best of the worst because they at least support these teams with money. That's about it though! They could care less about whether the team does well, players get hurt, or if the "Real" fans actually have fun.

2. Pretty much any so-called fan that just wears the team garb because that team won something in the last 3 years. This type of idiot is amazing to me because this fan is probably the offspring of Ticket Buying Rich Guy. This person probably only has friends because he or she has money. These types of fans just wear the stuff to look cool, but when they are asked about the team, they know NOTHING!!!!

3. The hillbilly fan! This type of fan that lives in West Texas, Idaho, much of Northern Utah, Wyoming, Montana, the parts of California no one has heard about, and finally any farming community I may have left out. This type of fan probably is the second to worst fan there is.

a. They are usually not passionate fans.
b. These people haven't discovered that the teams they say they follow have changed.
c. These people usually live in the past. They wish that guys like Darryl Johnston and Barry Sanders still played for them. They may even think they still do.
d. From my experience, these people are usually in debt. They will buy crap that these teams sell. Usually second hand team garb not licensed by the NFL.
e. Finally, these folks will love to argue with you without having a thing to back it up with other than they suck! Oh yeah, and more than likely their wives wear the pants in the family.

4. Last but not least the fan that irritates me the most is the let's see what he can do before we support this guy kind of fan. Are you freakin nuts!? If the families of doctors, nurses, teachers, insurance salesmen, etc. were to all of a sudden say well you aren't done with school yet and haven't proven yourself yet so we won't support you, they would be crushed. Now I get some of the reasoning because first round picks make oodles of money, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't follow them or support them. If you think we shouldn't support them, then I guess I don't have to support the male nurse, the female CEO, the stay-at-home dad, or the police officer fresh out of the academy.

Of course there will always be more instant annoying fans. These so-called fans are the ones who feel a sense of entitlement because they can't do what these athletes do. These are the fans who run on the field during a game, the beer throwers, and of course you have the fans who have no control of their lives, so they blame their Direct TV bill on being forced to buy that package.

There will always unfortunately be a world where athletes get paid more to play a game than teach in a classroom. That's just life, you can either deal with it and be a great "Real" fan or be one of the afore mentioned LOSERS!
